So funny you'd post this place today. I've driven past it about ten times in the last week while moving away from Peterborough. It's not in Warkworth, but yeah, cool stuff.

#1- nice shot.

They say "you can't judge a book by its cover!" I say "YES you can, if the cover has a girl on it with a cock in her mouth, its PORN!" if she's 18 and the cock is black, its GREAT porn!

thanks folks, appreciate it.

I found the kettle buried in a corner and left it atop the woodstove, I'd be pissed if someone took it.

@hyphen, the house is on the southern outskirts of the village of Hastings, but as the dotted line shows on the old map provided by Vital Films, its mailing address is indeed Warkworth.

Interesting, because I'm in Warkworth now, and that's a good 15 minute drive away. It's on the other side of what some locals around here call Cuff's Corners, between Warkworth and Hastings. Besides that, the 1878 map I'm looking at right now shows that the Brickley post office is also between Warkworth and Hastings.

Incidentally, there's an old church school house church (it's hard to tell on the 1878 map, but I'm going with my initial call) still standing in what once was Brickley, but it's a person's private shed now, by the look of it.

EDIT: I'm not trying to be a dick about things, but, Canada Post says:

xxxx COUNTY RD xx
RR 2
HASTINGS ON K0L 1Y0

Either way, as I already said: nice shots, and an interesting post. There are a few other interesting sites out this way. One about five minutes down the road from me, but it always seems at least semi-active.

FINAL EDIT (I promise): The 1878 map I'm looking at (a 1996 hard cover reproduction) denotes that dotted line as "Proposed Grand Junction Rail Road". As best I can tell, the structure in question appears to be in the lot owned at that time by the Fowlds Bros., just North of the toll gate shown on the map.

ya man no worries with me! The location is definitely in the County/village of Hastings. Warkworth is very close to the south. As for the 1878 map the snap shot of it was actually copied on it's side. So to the right of the photo would be north and the left would be south. The address I was given took me to these properties {Pat Barry - Rev. J. Brophy lots.} The little small lines on the properties with the little squiggly mark at the top and end indicates properties with the same owner. Leading me to believe these people leased the lots from the same one owner.

When I'm heading out of Hastings on the appropriate county road, the house is to my right, meaning that it'd be above the upper road showing "toll gate" on the map. The roads here aren't quite the same now as they were then, but comparing the 1878 map with Google Maps, you can sort of gauge which present-day roads are where. That's actually the exact same map I have here, though mine's a little less yellowed being a mid-90's reproduction. ;)

Sorry to ruin your WWF thing, Jerm, but it's apparently called the WWE now anyway, so get with the times! haha.

EDIT: In the spirit of my last post in the other thread, I removed a few potentially overly identifying details after realizing this was a "publicly viewable" thread.

This is one of the houses bandi took me to on one of our first dates <3. Neat place!

There's some great band artwork on the wall in the one bedroom, haha.

I have yet to meet a woman who would accept a trip to an abandoned house as a "date".

Maybe some day!
