Anyone else seen this book on Hearn?

Hey everyone,

I just came across this book and was wondering if anyone here has seen it or could share their thoughts on it. Hearn A Visual experience.
The 30 page preview looks pretty cool and I'm wondering if anyone else has seen the finished book to share their thoughts on the other pages.

The Hearn bug has bit me again as I've been looking back at some pics from last year, and this book seems pretty extensive at 230 pages, just wondering if anyone else has checked it out.

Neat find. Speaking of Hearn, Resident Evil's film crew was setting up on Sunday, expected to start shooting Monday. No idea when they're gonna wrap though.

Zens, do you have a copy of it?

The preview looks fantastic, and I'm seriously thinking about ordering it, would love to even get it signed if it was possible.

Neat book, but the price is ridiculous... I'd pay maybe $30 for a nice photobook.

Also, it seems he only started photographing the place in the last year or two, when much of the interior had already been removed. No generators, no turbines, no heaters, many catwalks missing, the entire lower three levels missing, most of the stuff out of the offices missing... to me, Hearn is now an empty shell; the things that gave it character are gone.

A book that has photos of Hearn should have a larger variety of dates in the photos.

You cannot get a photobook for $30 unless it was mass produced with copies over 2000+. Blurb is print on demand, and the quality in print varies a fair bit from what I've been told by others. I don't know if that's due to varying standards in what people expect in paper and print quality, but very few turn out stunning looking because people don't calibrate + profile their files correctly, etc.

I agree, the book is hardly definitive, but I didn't see the whole thing. Maybe he has historical photos, etc.

I realize that the method by which he is printing the book is why it is so expensive, I am simply saying that it is more money than I wish to pay.

I realize the book is fairly expensive, and not the be all end of of books on the subject.

I just came across it and thought it looked interesting so I wanted to see if anyone else had checked it out and could share their thoughts on the finished product.
I know it's unrealistic, but I'd love to see something like this done for more locations and maybe be a collaboration between a number of photographers complete with historical photographs, it's a very cool idea to put them into print and make them available. If anyone does have any info on the book it would be greatly appreciated.

Gore, not sure why you would want to purchase a book of someone elses photos of Hearn, when the ones I have seen that you have taken are FAR better! Look at your own pics man! Save the coin!

LOL...well thank you for the compliment.

I love the place though and am always interested in seeing how others capture it. I thought the photos were really cool and I'm very interested in seeing the others.

Blurb.com - awesome place to create your own books and to sell them, if you want to. The number of pages is why its so expensive, and it doesn't include the s/h etc (I've made two books on there). AV is right, the price is too high to generate much interest. They are great quality books though.

Umm that really has nothing to do with what I said to GORE, since he is a photographer, explores, and has been to hearn and his photos are way better than what's in that book. So in this case, for him to purchase it, in my opinion would be pointless.
