Won't say the name, but the ghost town row of homes in South Jersey along the water with the cinder-block dunes has officially been demolished. The houses abandoned in 2008 I believe are all gone, about 20 or so. the 4 abandoned in 2010 still stand, boarded up, with a little bit of damage but still a whole lot of valuables left behind.
Also....
... this school. Scheduled for demolition. If anyone finds out an exact date this is going down and would like to share it would be much appreciated.

Intriguing on the outside and beautiful on the inside.
A mirage is not an optical illusion. It is a real phenomenon, and one can take photographs of it. The interpretation of the image, however, is up to the fantasy of the human mind.
Didn't you guys ever just wonder what a building like this is like on the inside, and derive gratification simply from being able to find out for yourself, rather than spend the time fixated on getting your goddam shots for the internet? The value of exploring does not equal the contents of your fucking memory card; pull your head out of your ass, put the camera away, and smell the roses decay every once in a while. Stop seeing everything you do through the lens of some fellow douchebag reading a forum post.
Its a shame SB was demolished, it was a 6 hour drive for me when I went. It was nice to see a location like this ever since Pleasure Beach was demolished, even if almost all the houses were gutted and just shells.
OP, do you have a source news posting on the removal, or is this just word of mouth? http://flickr.com/anatonic/
The front row was demolished sometime before 1/1/12, and the rest of the active homes are being vacated to finish the demo if that hasn't happened already. It sucks, but what are you gonna do. I always wanted to spend the night in one of those houses to be able to watch the sunset and the sunrise.
haha i actually found the same factory on the way, screeched on the brakes when i drove by. most of the drive into SB was abandoned, it was very tempting not to stop every five mins.
I'd agree with you on sleeping in one of the houses for the pure beauty of the location.. however, the third house in was infested with sandfleas and I was covered with small red dots for a few days.. whoops ;p
Thank you for posting the video and for the heads up on the demo again!

Damn, sounds awful. Good thing I didn't I guess. I don't know if the sand fleas hang around for winter, but I probably would have done it in the colder temps anyway due to all the other bay bugs. Bay gnats especially. Exploring the distance between points A & B.
