BN Station Omaha

Hello,
Such a nice day here in Omaha today, temp in high 60's. Have been wanting to stop by the old BN train station, havent been there in a few years. Was able to actually walk up the old stairs now as it was wide open, went all the way up to the top platform. There was an opening at ground level where you would be able to crawl inside but I was alone so I just stuck the camera and clicked a few shots. Here are a few images, such a neat old building.
I also have been on a few missile sites if anyone needs any info on those.
Anyone wanting to get together to explore let me know, spring is coming!

Be careful if you go down in the lower levels, there's an alarm. It's not hooked to anything as far as I can tell. We set it off when a group of us stopped by there it just makes a lot of noise but we sat around in the parking lot and no one showed up to check on it. I think the only real danger from it is the noise attracting unwanted attention. There's also a hobo camp around on the back staircase but it was uninhabited when we were there.

If you make it out to central NE for anything shoot me a PM I've got all kinds of stuff out here to check out.

Uzi, when were you inside and how did you get in? Also, where in central Nebraska? I like road trips.

As far as the alarm is concerned, on a trip there, somebody crawled through a window on the South side, ground floor (from the Amtrak parking lot, you go under the parking lot, there was a hole in the fence at that time). They were in there about a minute and then a siren started blaring.

We retreated back to the Amtrak parking lot and watched for a while. The alarm eventually shut off and no cops showed up.

The entire interior is TOTALLY stripped down to bare stone and concrete.

Like Radio said we were in the process of going in on ground level when the alarm went off. We spent quite a bit of time around back you could drop in there from a spot on the back staircase but getting back out the same way would be a pain. The whole in the fence at the front would be the easiest if its still there. When we were there there was a window wide open up on the front of the building but its in plain view of the street.

And I'm out west of Kearney, Cozad to be specific. I wander anywhere from Grand Island to the CO border on any given weekend. I get back around Lincoln and Omaha too but usually when I do its for work and kills my exploring time.

If you're feeling like a road trip shoot me a PM I'd be happy to show you around the area lot of things to see out here. I've got a bunch of camera gear, lights, and a truck that will go anywhere, but no one out here explores. Not that it stops me from getting out but another explorer or 2 would be alright from time to time.

We will have to hook up sometime Uzi. I'm east of you in the Columbus area. I'm bad about checking this site (as many people seem to be) but will make an attempt to check more often. I've done a lot of abandoned houses/building around my area but nothing out your way.
