Tennis Court Crescent

I was getting a ride to the Canada Aviation and Space Museum a couple of days prior to this excursion, and I noticed a boarded up building in the middle of a park, I made a note of the location and looked it up on Google Maps and Bing Maps later that night.

I couldn't find any information about the building itself, but the neighbouring building and tennis court belongs to the Ottawa New Edinburgh Club, so I assume it used to be something related to that. Alternatively, it could have something to do with Rockcliffe Park (the actual Park, not the area). In any case, it sticks out in this area, an abandoned building surrounded by mansions of international ambassadors and dignitaries, I don't know what happened there.

I asked a friend if he would be interested in exploring a few places today, and he agreed, so we met up downtown and headed out to Rockcliffe Park. We found three buildings, one was closed for the winter (Tennis Court building), one was clearly abandoned and in disrepair, the third appeared to be a poorly maintained shed that was active.

There was a security vehicle parked outside of the shed, and we could hear Francophone radio playing inside, so we steered clear of that area (later, the security vehicle left, and a truck showed up and two maintenance workers hopped out to do whatever it is that they do).

The abandoned building itself had no access to the interior, but judging from the condition of the roof, and holes in the doors, the interior would probably be disgusting, and neither of us had masks for such an infiltration. We ended up wandering around the Tennis Court building for the better part of an hour, before leaving for exploring elsewhere.

Enjoy the photos, and the location

Nice

They say "you can't judge a book by its cover!" I say "YES you can, if the cover has a girl on it with a cock in her mouth, its PORN!" if she's 18 and the cock is black, its GREAT porn!

Nice pics. The building may have been for the streetcar line that used to end right around that spot.

Very odd to find anything abandoned in that area.

Interesting shots... dig the pales.
