Sorry i snapped. Im just really tired of the full members who act all stuck up and think they can talk down to people who arent full members who like exploring. I mean what have you actually proven by gaining full membership? Nothing more then the fact that youve invested alot of time into this website. Which is fine i might add, however it doesnt mean your better then anyone else on here, and you dont get the right to act like it.

It's great to talk about locations and comment on pics but if you don't actually have proof that you've been anywhere, how are you planing to get your FM if that's what you want and how are ppl going to trust you?

Fine. Tomorrow, Ill use the girlfriends camera and take pictures of the boats at lakeview and post them on this thread.

I'm not trying to act like a "see you next tuesday" here, I'm just trying to help you out. We've all been there and you'll never get your fm on here or on OAP if you don't contribute more than just comments.

No offence again but I was at the meet last weekend and I don't remember meeting you. I didn't do the explore though because I had just been there 2 weeks prior.

... ive never been to any meets cus i have a G1, use my parents vehicles, and just getting out exploring without my parents finding out is a bitch because they're overbearing and always need to know where i am and exactly what im doing. So it would be hard to come up with enough lies to go to toronto and back for a day. Plus there's school, work, hockey, and cadets that all play into my schedule. Id like to go to a meetup, but like i dunno when ima get a chance to, or how for that matter.

... word of advice though is that you shouldn't meet up with random strangers on here that have next to no posts, are basic members and that don't post up their age/location. ...

I agree. And if you were to meet up with strangers of any sort, from the internet or otherwise, it's good practice (regardless of whether you get a "good feeling" about them) to let someone know where you're going, who you're meeting (any info you have), when you're going, and when you intend to be back. Also, have the person check in with you shortly after the initial meeting (have your friend text you, or call you). If you don't text or call back, they should be very alarmed. So don't forget! Lastly, -after- you've checked in with your friend, tell the person you're meeting that someone else knows where you are and when you're supposed to be back. If you tell any of this to the person you're meeting beforehand, and they're an evil person, they could force you to pretend like everything is ok. You don't want that.

This of course, will make them think twice about abducting you, if that was their intention.

Yes, I've done my share of meeting strangers No, I've never felt the slightest cause to worry.

I told my one friend about it. Didnt do any of the texting nonsense tho. I go with my gut, and Jose is totally harmless lol no need to worry. I did have my spring assist knife and my brass knuckles on me the entire time tho just incase he turned around and tried to do naughty things to me ;). I know it sounds incredibly sketch, but it wasnt at the time. We did sum sick exploring and he showed me an incredible location.

Don't trust your gut, just sayin'. All the notable psycho killers seemed, "very friendly, nice guys" according to the people who met them. Exuding charm is one of the first things they learn.

sQualie, I got there late, around 1:40. I'm a quiet person, in person. Easy to miss. I remember following some people who then pulled over and said they weren't actually going to the excursion. That mighta been you. I was driving, and my passenger was another first timer who I'd just met.

Exploring with brass knuckles (a prohibited weapon) is a great way to land a criminal charge of carrying concealed and possible assault with a weapon. If you're that concerned about safety, I'd consider another hobby.

There's a reason Zellers doesn't carry them.

Consider a cellphone with GPS tracking, ask other members for references (so-to-speak) regarding people they've explored with or bring a friend along.

In 10+ years of exploring I don't recall hearing a single story about male explorers being assaulted. The risk is real but the odds are slim to none. If you're caught trespassing by the police and they find the weapon, I think everyone in the group will be walking away with trespass tickets.

Wow this is like the Romper Room of UER!

FYI people:
if you are going to bother going to a UER Meet, don't sit there all
Anti social, speak up, introduce yourself and learn.
Every time I go to a UER meet, I introduce myself with a handshake...
And for the most part, people just quiver and retreat to the safety of their shell.
Has all this social media taken away your social skills?

They say "you can't judge a book by its cover!" I say "YES you can, if the cover has a girl on it with a cock in her mouth, its PORN!" if she's 18 and the cock is black, its GREAT porn!

What's wrong with the kids these days?
They have a false sence of security Brought on by xbox- beating and killing computerized bad guys. (Look how skinny your legs are!)

So quick to pick up a gun, a knife or brassknuckles, So scared to take a proper beating.
In my day we got in real fights with real blood, not ammo or bonus points-
You win some, you lose some, but you live to fight another day!
What ever happened to learning how to fight bare knuckles, the hard way?

Honestly son,
those brassknuckles are going to prob get you in more trouble then you think.
If not with the law, then with the guy you're attempting to defend yourself against. If you don't knock him out with one hit(rare) with brassknuckles, then chances are that's gunna piss off even more, and he will prob use them on you.

UER drama makes me laugh so much, the Ontario forum is always a treat at the end of my night out. But like they said, be friendly and polite when meeting people there really isn't much to worry about. If I'm not writing any midterms next weekend and anyone wants to meet up in Toronto pm me and I'll happily take a train from Guelph.

I appreciate your views logtec, but im not talking out my ass here. Ive been mugged on lakeshore road before when i was a bit younger. I live in an area that has real gangs with local kids who go to my highschool in them. I avoid it, but its there. I know a kid who goes to my highschool, and whos recently taken up dealing meth. And no, im not joking.
Please dont imply I cant take a proper beating or whatever because I actually have, and kids still do get in very very real fights these days.
