This building stands about 6 stories tall at its tallest point. It is about a block long, and borders the Milwaukee river on its west side. Access used to be relatively easy as long as you knew how to get around the barbed wire fences, but now most of the doors and windows have been boarded shut. I haven't been there since, but I do still believe access to be possible. As for inside the building, there is wide open, very dirty areas with huge pipes and machinery on the north end of the building. Catwalks surround each room and head in all kinds of directions. Above is some other rooms, with less pipey (good desription, I know) types of huge machines. As I really have no clue as to how a tannery operated, I really can't comment on the usage of this equipment. The central part of the building is also the tallest part. There is all kinds of sawhorse looking things all over the place. The floors are of the joined wood type and are very wavy in places, so you have to watch your step. They all seemed relatively solid though. The South end is the office areas. Not much left over here. Just the typical piles of random paper work, and some phone piles. Nothing terribly exciting. You can also find a cafeteria here, some locker rooms, and a conference room that looks like it used to be pretty nice, but now it stinks like there's a pile of dead hogs in there. The rooftop is worth getting on top of because the building is close to downtown. The Milwaukee skyline isn't much to speak of, but it's still a nice view. Your time is limited, as they're going to tear it down.

This building is pretty huge. There are multiple rooftop levels you can get onto, interesting machinery, piles of phones, stables(?), basements, piles of shoe parts, and much more.
