     History
The Westminister and Vancouver Tramway Co. was formed in 1891 by Henry Edmonds, Ben Douglas, John Webster, and David Oppenheimer. By October of that year a network of intururban tramcar lines had been established through much of Burnaby, linking New Westminister to Vancouver. This Vancouver-born business would later change its name to the BC Electric Company, and later still... BC Hydro.

Today in Burnaby, the trams are long gone. Today's Skytrain Line from border to border follows the "Highland Park Line" almost exactly and, down at Burnaby Park, the freeway travels on top of the "Burnaby Lake Line". Not much remains of the once vital train service of Burnaby..... But there is something.
