     History
The original municipal airport for the town of Boulder City was located directly adjacent to the south edge of the town.

According to Chris Kennedy, the town of Boulder City was built & run

by the contractors that built the Hoover dam, to house the workers.

The dam was finished in 1935.

The date of construction of the original Boulder City Municipal Airport has not been determined.

It may have been established between 1933-34,

as no airport in Boulder City was listed in The Airport Directory Company's 1933 Airport Directory (according to Chris Kennedy).

The earliest reference to an airport in Boulder City which has been located

was in the 1934 Department of Commerce Airport Directory (courtesy of Chris Kennedy).

It listed a "Bullock's Airport" located "one-half mile southwest of the center of Boulder City".

It described the field as having three sand runways,

with the longest being a 4,000' north/south strip.

The Airport Directory Company's 1938 Airport Directory (courtesy of Chris Kennedy)

described Boulder City as having three 4,000' hard-packed dirt runways,

    oriented north/south, east/west, and northwest/southeast.

Boulder City was depicted as a "Class 3" airport

on the 1940 Airports & Airways Map from the NV Division of Aeronautics (courtesy of Jim Mallery).
