  •  Interesting Features
It's worth hiking up to just for the location, but the lodge itself is of much interest too - just for the architectural mess and weirdness. Incidentally sron lairig is Gaelic for "pass of the nose" or "pass of the promontary".

     History
Said to have been presented to Lord Lovat on his safe return from the South African War. There isn't much information at all about this place. There were plans to turn it into a remote retreat in 1995, but they came to nothing.

     Future Plans
As far as I can see it'll probably rot for another 50 years, sadly. Has now been converted into a store for hay and saddles for the horses on the grounds.
