 Overview
 Description
On the outskirts of Watts Township just off of 11/15 and then 322 west there is an old hotel called Amity Hall. It has been abandoned since the 80’s and is a prime UE location. There is, at times, open doorways, windows, or even if it’s all sealed up again there’s always a way to get in. But be aware… other than state police with spot lights looking for trespassers there’s more to this structure than meets the eye.

Amity has a dark past that includes a few deaths from a murder to civil war casualties that begins in 1818 when the place was first built. It was used as a nice place for people who used the canal system to stay the night and get some rest. With a boat dock and easy access this spot became known as the place to stop and catch some z’s.

Soon after it was built the civil war broke out. The hotel was later used as a temporary civil war hospital, the rooms converted from furnished living quarters to hundreds of beds for the wounded.

After the civil war, it reopened as a hotel once again. It was purchased by a man who had two daughters and a wife and wanted easy income. They lived next to the hotel in a nice two story home (which has since been demolished). The attic was also later set up as another living space for the family and for their guests to stay the night free. The family after a while could no longer afford to live side by side with the hotel that was rapidly losing business as automobiles made shipping easier (it also didn't help that a highway was placed right over top of it). So they moved into the attic not long after first buying it.

At first glance it seems the attic is a small apartment. There’s a central room with a bedroom on your left where the children slept and on the right a kitchen and another bedroom. Shortly after moving in the husband caught his wife cheating on him with a hotel guest. He went mad and killed his wife and the guest and in a rage he ran up to his home in the attic only to find his daughters frightened and panicking. He murdered his little girls in the attic in between the two beds. After he realized what he did he then killed himself. The hotel was then SHUT DOWN.

Years later it was unsuccessfully reopened as a hotel / restaurant. The hotel was plagued with unexplainable happenings including opening and closing doors, sights of apparitions, and then above all a freak explosion in the kitchen that closed amity’s door forever. Amazingly, most of the stories of the place are backed up with news articles and even a small blurb in a PA history book.

Amity is two stories high and shaped as an L. The attic would be considered the third floor. On the right night, it is said that you can see reenactments of the murders right in front of you.

Amity is now mostly empty with a few exceptions. There is some furniture in guest rooms, a room with two couches (we actually slept on), and an antique Pepsi machine wedged in between the stairs and the railing, and other appliances.

That's how the story goes.... Scary huh?
