The Goldie Mill was built on the site of the first saw mill in Guleph (Wellington Mill 1827 to 1864 when it was destroyed by fire) The remains were purchased by the Goldie Family in 1864 and they rebuilt the mill. They operated it until 1918 when it was sold to Standard Milling Co, which operated the mill until 1927 when it was again sold to F.K Morrow of Toronto. The site then operated as a warehouse until 1953 when fire once again fire destroyed the location. When the ruins were threatened to be flattened into a parking lot the Grand River Conservation Authority purchased the ruins in 1976 and through several groups stabalized the ruins turning the location in a public park.
