 Overview
 Description
A 100 year old masonry and concrete building of roughly 50000 sq ft plus warehouse on about 10-12 acres.

There is significant vandalism and the building has some superficial decay here and there. The warehouse has a little structural damage too like missing walls. There appears to be some preparation for clean up or demolition going on.

     History
Built in 1899 the main building here was a cotton textile mill and one of the towns leading employers. The Waxahachie Cotton Mills Company built affordable houses nearby for its workers creating their own little mill town here until 1934. After that, the building was vacant until 1945 when Tyler Refrigeration purchased it.

The Tyler Refrigeration company still manufactures freezers and coolers in Waxahachie but in 2001 they moved out of here to a new factory because this one was just wore out.

In 1984 the old mill was listed on the historical register as being in need of preservation but Ive found nothing to indicate that anything is being done to preserve it.

See the historic post card images that show how the red brick edifice looked before it was painted over. Preservation efforts may have stalled due to some unspecified environmental issues with the property according to Ellis County documents online.
