     History
Pocahontas was a mining town, with a population of over 300 at it's peak. It had a power center, general store, hotel and pub. Most of the miners were men, who came out west to make enough money so that thier families could follow them. The original town was made almost entirly of wood, with the exception of the powerhouse, some of the city buildings, and the dynamite magazine. After the mine closed, the town was abandoned and left to be reclaimed by nature. Sometime in the fifties, a fire raged through the empty town, destroying what remained of the buildings. Now all that's left is the foundations, and some mining implements and coal cars.

In the ninties, a local preservationist group took intrest in the site, and erected a sign or two to identify to ruins. Other than that it's untouched.
