A single story brick building of about 6000 square feet in a residential subdivision on 2 acres.
The floor plan is fairly typical of these institutions. Six corridors arranged in a radial pattern around a central lobby with a nurses station and reception desk.
This particular home appears to have been abandoned for several years and there is evidence of vagrant habitation and some vandalism. Nearly all furnishings and equipment have been removed. The building itself is still structurally viable.
There is a major thoroughfare on the north, active neighbors on the south east and west. Location is highly visible.

In 2004 the city of Cleburne posted a notice on the front door of this nursing home that it was in violation of city code and declared the property unsafe for occupation. Subsequent violations have been posted on top of that one.
Prior to 2004 this was a nursing home of the type often found in residential neighborhoods. Its low profile and unobtrusive appearance doesnt stand out against a background of apartments and tract homes.
Increased regulatory pressure, malpractice lawyers and rising health care costs have made it difficult for privately operated elder care facilities like this one to remain in business much less profitable. Many of them are now closed or abandoned.
