     History
Originally built in the mid-1790s by the order of General Ogilvie to guard against an enemy ship passing through the harbour. Ogilvie named it himself for himself. Fort Ogilvie now stands "abandoned ... a monument to a little man".

During the 1960s, much of Fort Ogilvie was entombed.

In February 2010 municipal crews cleared trees and overgrowth from the fort.
