     History
The original school was built in 1901, but a fire ravaged it in 1907. It was rebuilt in 1909, and added onto in 1922. It was used as a high school until sometime in the mid-to-late 60's when the current high school was built. It then served as a junior high until the new junior high was built in the 70's. For a short time, it was used as a middle school, until the city closed it, stating "They would never have use for it" sometime around 1985. 15 years later, the school district cries "overcrowding". Too bad this school has now supposedly suffered some water damage inside. Here it sits, still vacant, now owned by the Assisted Living Center behind it, used for storage and occasionally police training.

It made the National Register of Historical Places in 1987.

UPDATE: As of Sept 2019, it is now part of the nursing home and completely remodeled and repurposed. It is now known as the 1907 at Central.
