 Overview
 Description
Most production buildings were demolished when the sawmill was closed in the 80s. More buildings, such as the pulp mill (built 1903) and the washhouse (1928) were demolished over the years. The fire station burned to the ground in 2006 and some buildings were demolished in autumn 2007. It is uncertain if any buildings remain anymore.

Anyway, the largest remaining building and a local landmark is the power station (1878) and attached water tower (1920). There's still plenty of vintage equipment for visitors to admire and a great view from the roof.

     History
The steam sawmill of Halla was found by Norwegian businessmen in 1876, and was sold to the Kymi group in 1916. A fire destroyed the sawmill in 1933, but it was rebuilt later, and finally demolished in 1986 when all production ceased.

Even though more buildings vanished in the following years, some, such as a power station, remained abandoned until 2007, when one of the buildings burned down and the demolition of the rest started. The current status of the power station remains unclear.
