     History
The Bayou Vista Volunteer Fire Department was Established in 1979 they used this building from at least 1979 to around 1987 however the building was built in 1970 as to what it was used for before 1979 I'm not sure of but a good guess would be some type of fire station. On a trip to Texas in 2005 I found this place by mistake and at that time you could walk right into the place it was wide open with no locks or boarded up windows and the fire truck was dirty but in great shape. Over the next 3 years I visited this place maybe 5 times but on one of my last trips I found the windows boarded up and a padlock on the door after a few months I went back one last time as I was leaving Texas and wanted to see it again on this trip in the day time I found the padlock cut and laying on the ground so I went in only to see that someone had vandalized the old fire truck breaking the windows and taking the radio and some of the lights. I had talked to the owner at one time seeing if I could buy the place as a garage for my cars unfortunately he was unable to sell it due to some problems with another owner. After I found the place had been broken into I tried to get in touch with the owner again however he since had his number made private and I did not have time to track him down to let him know what had happened. It's been almost a year since I was there last I only hope it's in at least the same shape it was in last time I was there. For anyone who goes there I hope you are able to see some of the stuff in the pictures if it's still there and be careful as there is a busy highway in front and houses right behind the old fire station.

     Future Plans
There are no future plans right now as the owner cannot sell the building due to some kind of fight with other part owners that's what I was told so more than likely it will sit this way for years to come.
