It is unlikely that this beacon was ever equipped with a radio transmitter. There's a ladder inside the tower, but the first four or so meters have been cut. During the Second World War the field was used by Finnish Fokker D.XXI fighter planes. The airfield moved to its current location in Rusko in 1955, but was used for general aviation until 1965. Nowadays the only remaining building is the flight beacon which sits abandoned on a nearby hill.  Media Coverage  Future Plans The locals were once planning to renovate the beacon, but nothing has happened since then.
