Two separate sites, the fire control area and the launch area. Both are pretty beat up. The launch area contains a few smal concrete buildings and the 3 welded magazines. The fire control area contains a half dozen or so old one story buildings of various size. It also contains 4 towers which were for tracking incomming enemy planes and missile.

The missile tracking towers are neat and provide a good view. The old magazines are neat too, though welded shut.

PH-58 was the southermost Nike site in New Jersey and served to protect the Philadelphia-Chester-Camden area from Soviet attack. PH-58 followed the standard Nike configuration, containing 3 missile magazines, with one being "B" type, and 2 being of the "C" type. When it first became operational in 1957 PH-58 was armed with 30 Nike-Ajax missiles, which contained a conventional warhead. In the early 60s the Ajax missiles were removed and replaced with 24 of the new Nike-Hercules. The new missle had improved speed range and accuracy over the older Ajax, allowing it to be used agaisnt ICBMs as well as planes. The Hercules also could hold a nuclear payload, to increase the probability of it destroying its target. From its opening to closure in 1974 the site was manned by the US Army. The units that served here and the dates of their service are as follows. D/176th (1957-1958) D/2/59th (1958-1961) B/3/43rd (1961-1974) Since its closure in 1974 the site has sat vacant.
