These galleries contain pictures from three different mines all in the same general area. They are all on private property, two different owners on either side of the street. Two of them are owned by a very nice old man who gave us permission, the one on the other side of the street has no trespassing signs all over the place. The old man owns the biggest and most interesting one, and the smallest and most boring one. The one on the other side of the street isn't very big. The entrances are all pretty close to the road, but not visible...You have to know where they're at. Each of the bigger two mines has half a dozen or so original entrances, but some of them are blocked over. They all have metal grates installed over them, but they have a few bars cut off so you can get in.

I have no actual history on this location and no information specific enough to find info online so far, but these mines seem to me to be for sandstone. There is trash all over, it seems to be a pretty popular party spot. Plenty of trash from the early 80's, so closing date was perhaps as late as the 70's.

It will continue to be a choice location for Jackson's teenagers to go drink and camp out.
