    Criminal mischief, Castle Rock

On March 28, 2011, and at approximately 7 a.m., I was sent to 4233 Home St. within the state of Colorado and county of Douglas, by my Sergeant on a report of a Criminal Mischief to the building (spray painted). I responded and did the following:

Saw where the North West side of the building had been “tagged” with paint that was visible from Interstate 25.

Walked the entire perimeter and found other spray-painted walls.

Found a pried open window on the south side.

    Made entry through this window.

Found where numerous walls had been broken out completely.

The walls that were not broken were seen with numerous other spray painted messages and symbols.

Some of the messages were negatively directed towards African Americans.

There were also some “Star of David” drawings along with “666” and Hitler messages.

Photographed all the damage to both the exterior and exterior.

Left a message at the phone number dispatch found for the owner of the building.

Left a message for the apparent facilities manager.

Estimated the damages at over $1,000.

There was no known way of knowing when the building was last seen in good order given that no one from the listed owner was available at time of this report. It was obvious by the amount of damage both on the outside and inside of the building, someone had unlawfully entered through a boarded up window and proceeded to break walls and spray paint anti-African American statements throughout the building. There were no leads or suspects.

    I took no further action.
