     History
Built in 1911, this water tower and the nearby accompanying railroad stop (now demolished) was abandoned in 1934 in what was Cedar Crest, Texas; a part of the Peter's Colony Land Grant given to Lorenzo Van Cleve.

The original 640 acre land grant was bordered by a rail line on the eastern side, and a passenger and cargo rail station was built, along with a water tower with an observation deck.

The tower itself stood unused after the closure of the rail station and the water tank and observation deck at the peak fell during a storm in 1944.

Surrounding the area of the tower are numerous parts of the old buildings including ceramic roofing tiles, wooden floor areas and non-rebar concrete pavement
