Babie, at the age of 74, had operated the dealership for 36 years and had been selling General Motors products for 41 years. He is also known in Victoria as the builder and owner of the Holiday Inn hotel on Blanshard Street. The dealership and property was sold to Dave Wheaton Pontiac Buick GMC late 2007. The name was changed to Victoria Motor Products. Since then it's been closed again likely due to the General Motors bankruptcy in 2009.  Media Coverage  Future Plans In 2012 the Jim Pattison Automotive Group purchased the property and is apparently planning to move its Metro Lexus Toyota dealership to the site. It has since been demolished.
