The site was originally part of adjacent Lowry AFB as part of the airfield's flight line - the northern portion of the site was used as aircraft parking for maintenance operations while the south side consisted of a grass field which was presumably used as a munitions dump for the armaments that were to be loaded on the aircraft. After the runways were decommissioned and flight operations were transferred to Buckley AFB, the site was repurposed - parking lots were created from the tarmac and a large data center was constructed on the southern portion of the site - an extremely modern structure for its time. Now it's undergoing renovation and will likely be demolished completely as it's difficult to find any buyers. The concrete and tarmac from the site is to be recycled but the building is probably going to be demolished - it's already been nearly stripped bare.
