This large hospital was originally operating out of a mansion on S. 9th Street. Over the years, more buildings were built. In 1929, the main building was built. The "North Tower" was added in the late 1960's. The hospital closed and Essex county purchased the north tower. The county intentionally neglected the building so they could forcibly take the land. The building was demolished in 2015.
