It’s a probably haunted house on an obscure road by the river.

The house holds an evil secret. It appears to have been abandoned midway through a renovation. Windows still have stickers on them from the store. All the doors are barricaded, and holes in the walls have huge debris piled in front to block access. Doors inside have thick wood beams blocking the doors. The garage is permanently sealed, plywood and metal panels block off the garage. Exterior garage doors are likewise plywooded, meaning even the owner of the property can’t get inside the garage. There’s no driveway leading up to the garage doors either. Something horrible is locked in there - something horrible somebody doesn’t want to get out.

The history of this mansion is very difficult to determine, as everything on site is very incongruous. The basement cistern is built within a foundation of ancient limestone blocks, reminiscent of the 1820's-1880's house ruins that are scattered all over the Galena region. Ancient limestone block houses can be found in many woodlands and fields around Galena. The concrete foundation built around the ancient limestone block is unusual though, and I haven't previously seen this sort of mishmash of construction. To further complicate things, the concrete foundation has been jackhammered away to expose the bare dirt, almost like they were going to build a third generation of foundation for the house before things went abandoned. The exterior of the house looks like something from the 1970's or 1980's. The renovation, which was eventually abandoned, could have occurred any time in the past 20 years, and it's difficult to tell how long it's been abandoned. The barn on the property is probably a century old.

All mention of the house and it’s existence has been wiped from the history books. A haunted conspiracy, perhaps.

There is no future for this house. It was abandoned while being renovated, but is now beyond saving.
