     History
The TD Bank Tower is the pre-eminent office tower at the Toronto-Dominion Centre. The first of the six towers constructed, it remains an architectural and commercial landmark in Toronto. The 56-storey tower features over 1.3 million square feet of total rentable area and is home to tenants of exceptional covenant.

Designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, the complex is a classic example of modern architecture. At 731 ft, it's currently the 8th tallest building in the city. When it was built, aside from Commerce Court it was the only sizable thing in Toronto, providing the office spaces with unobstructed views across the developing core.

The complex made headlines around the world in 1993 when Garry Hoy, a 39-year-old lawyer fell 24 floors to his death. He had been trying to demonstrate to a group of visiting law students the strength of the windows in the Toronto-Dominion Bank Tower by charging into the glass.

For it's 50th anniversary, the Tower has been undergoing lots of renovation.
