We were on our way to the Ball's Falls conservation area for a walk (you know you're getting old when...), when I asked my girlfriend to pull into the old Wet-n-Wild parking lot at Prudhommes Landing so I could get a couple pictures of the abandoned waterparks front entrance gate. I never even thought about going into the park because I honestly didn't think anything would be left. Well, we went in and found a lot of it still intact. It was lovely, eerie and sad. The sadness stemmed from the fact I, like most Niagara children, spent time there as a child. The graffiti and prophylactic litter suggests this area is now used mainly by teens to engage in teenaged malarky. No longer is it the innocent Wet-n-Wild. I mean, I'm sure it's still very wet and wild but that's another story. There was a man there along with his son and he was digging holes next to the wave pool and using one of those metal detectors. Enjoy the pictures...
