Those aren't left over parts from the Ciste Chairlift. Those are parts (the towers and etc) of the old dryslope poma from Aviemore that is to be installed further up the mountain. However, regarding spare parts - GMD Mueller (the make of the chairlift) spares are still obtainable, and in any case parts of some modern chairlifts can be used instead. The chairlift is far from being unmaintainable, and is still used by the staff (at present, used almost daily, to assist in moving snow fencing up hill for repair work). Shut off to the public though, and - unless prevented - demolition is expected probably next summer.
