In the 20's, when engineers were building US 220, they had a conflict. Build a bridge, or build around this natural lake on top of the mountain between Ringdale and Laporte... So of course, they blew up the dam, and drained the lake. Route 220 goes right through it. You have found one of it's retaining walls and a watering trough for horses.
