  did some research, this basin being called the "peel basin" is fairly recent, when the canal was shut down peel didnt reach the canal even

  yes i remember, the couple of times i was up in the cjad helicopter somtimes we took off from there

  I'm glad you talk about this because I used to go watch some fireworks on the top of the landing spot and when I talk about the helicopters to friends,they don't believe it..so I ended up thinking I was probably wrong...but now I know I was not...yeah !

  yeah cjad stored thier helicopter at a pilot school across from pratt n whitney, they picked up guests and rick leckner here

  And from what I recalled, Quebecor helicopter (back in the days of Peladeau Senior) used it also.

  Actually I remember stopping and being so relaxed in the little areas around there, before the Canal became so popular and they landscaped everything. I lived on my bike on the Canal from April to October from about 80 -86.
