Let's get right down to the maps, shall we? Detail from 1984 NOAA Nautical Chart #14761 "St. Lawrence River, St Regis to Croil Islands" showing western Cornwall and what remains of the Cornwall Canal. Locks 18 and 19 are about it. At the east end of the canal, Locks 15, 17 and the dry dock have all been filled in. Not sure what became of the mysterious Lock 16. West of the big dike at left, the rest of the Cornwall Canal lies under the waters of Lake St. Lawrence. The railroad tracks running along the top of the image used to be the main CNR line along the St. Lawrence. The tracks were moved inland prior to the inundation.
