Believe it or not, there's a distinct difference between the hillbillies and the rednecks. It's hard to understand unless you've met them both. True hillbillies are no longer very common.

I'm very sure I'm not a Shaffer. My last name doesnt begin with an 'S' nor do any of my ancestors have a last name of 'Shafer'.

lol Okay, okay! Too bad though. Here in West-by God-Virginie, it's a good thing to have someone who's "mighty mean" in the family tree. I have some great, great, great uncles that shot up a town and killed some people while breaking one of their brothers out of jail. :-)

Being part Welch/Irish, I have horse thieves in my family. That's about as 'mighty mean' as my family gets. Otherwise, I'm pretty tame.
