Prior to the opening of the Seaway in 1959, all cargo heading down the St. Lawrence from the Great Lakes was unloaded here and transferred to smaller vessels capable of navigating the historic canals. http://www.portofprescott.com/ The terminal hasn't been entirely abandoned but... let's just say that it's seen better days. I hope to add this one to the LDB next time I ride through here.
