That's strange. Why would anyone cover up a beautiful brick wall with aluminum siding?! ::

Heating in some cases but in most cases, Bad Taste.

I see they didn't put any insulation under when the siding was put on.

whatever it is it's a lot tougher than that siding.

not really charlie, roll on fake brick is good for 5-6 years max.

yea, but somehow it seems like it does a much better job of protecting a place, maybe because it is rolled directly on?

charlie its like big shingles, after a couple of years in the heat the grit falls off and it needs replacing. the only reason the aluminum siding was taken off is its worth somthing. as far as maintenance goes, aluminum siding may be ugly but it is a lot more cost effective that that fake brick crap :D

i agree with ya in theory but I was reminded of a large shed besides my parents property and that tar brick stuff was on there solid for at least 30 years before there was any real signs of wear- and it was an unheated shed so may be a case of they dont make it like they used to?

I dunno --- so many variables --- sometimes I think it just boils down to even pieces of crap work well under the right conditions.
