Looks like a grinding mill. Rocks are fed into rotating cylinders (as a slurry, if they're small enough), and the grinding action of rock against rock breaks them down. Sometimes steel balls are added to speed the grinding.

There is one left inside, yeah somekind of tumblers. There were a half dozen or so on the lower floor. N.
