I had the experience to wander here for a day back in 1984 when I was just a an expat kid growing up in KSA. It looks like much of the rubble has been cleaned up and places restored since then... I ended up finding an ancient Hubbly Bubbly pipe bowl in a rubble pile of the Saud palace. Who knows? It could have belonged to a king... I really wish I could see some of these places again!
