I wonder if the demo guys felt bad about it...
Posted by Big In Japan 8/31/2006 10:44 PM | remove
I hope the Demo guys and everyone who had anything to do with this coming down, suffer a tragedy as grande as this building!!

It's not their fault; demolition work is simply their job. For the ones who actually couldn’t wait to see Danvers come down, I hope their fate is as you suggested.

I don't care if it is thier job. Call it what you want.....I hope everyone who has anything to do with this place coming down gets hurt somehow. Yes i may be an asshole, and yes that may sound unreasonable....."it's just thier job" doesn't cut it with me. They could do lots of other things.

Yeah because it's so easy to go from 25 years of work in a particular field and then completely switch to a brand new profession. The demolition of Danvers devastates me as well, but not to such a radical extent. Just a difference of opinion here.

Who said anything about easy? And i agree it's just a difference of opinion. I'm just expressing how i feel, not telling anyone else how to feel

I do realize that this is a matter of how you feel. It's just that you said "They could do lots of other things." This came off to me sounding like you thought the workers (presently) had a multitude of options when it came to other fields of work. Don't get me wrong dude, I was quite upset to see Danvers go. But never should a building--an inanimate object--take precedence over the welfare of a virtually helpless human being (in this case, the construction workers).

  "Virtually helpless?" Come on....
I realise that i was being a bit dramatic, but "Virtually helpless human being!!"
What they do is a choice they made. In addition, I think I will tell me what takes precedence over what. Again...I was expressing how i feel, not telling anyone else how to feel.

I can think of several people that i would rather see demolished than some inanimate objects.

You really felt the need to type that?

Enough of you trying to inflict your morals on me.
this is getting boring.
Go shake your head sadly at some sheeple!

Yet again, you are mistaken (big surprise there). Not once have I tried, nor have I intended to inflict my morals upon you. These are just opinions and subjective feelings being raised here, remember? You said so yourself. Oh yeah--and to answer your question, yes, I really did feel the need to type that (duh).

It's still kinda there. They turned it into a huge apartment complex/neighborhood. I would so live there. http://www.danvers...um.com/avalon.html

Maybe I'm four years late, but Big In Japan, you're a fucking idiot. And yes, I, too felt the need to type that.
