what are the rules on salvage vehicles in Texas? that's a Cavalier and it doesn't take much $$$ to get one of them running/driving... I know, I am the J-body god of UER.

salvage? or abandoned? In Texas a vehicle thats left where it aint spose to be left can be towed, impounded and sold if not claimed after 30 days of the registered owner being notified. Happens every day in Dallas at the police pound.

When I worked at a shop we had whats called a "sheriffs auction" just about every month. Lots of still viable cars and trucks got purchased for $1. Of course they were usually abandoned because the repairs were more than they were worth.

my 91 Cavalier had two keys... one for the doors, one for the ignition... i still have a set to that car even though i haven't seen it since 2000.

hmm, wait was it 92 it got the dash with the cup holder, cus that was the year it got the 1 key. before that it still had the dash it had shared with the sunbird and cimarron, what bugs me is in 2003 they finally put a 60/40 back seat in the new j body.

1991 was the year that the Cavalier got a modest restyle and a new interior. The cupholders were right in front of the passenger... and had two keys... :oP

hmm cus my friends is a 92 and only got one key, i loved the post 89 dash in the sunfire. only thing with our cold winters the separate tape deck used to freeze. the sunbird also had a more complete guage package than the sunfire.
