this photo will give you a reference to how my originals look. this is the negative, scanned at 1200 dpi, without any touch-up work. as you can see, the color is just a little washed out and the levels are a little on the bright side. the only photoshop work i do is to adjust the levels and color balance, trying to stay as true as possible without oversaturating. second, i remove the unavoidable dust spots (seen in the black and a couple in the grass). then of course, i add a border or similar finishing touch.
mostly, i like to keep it to a minimum and do everything in camera. makes for a more enjoyable camera and teaches you to improve your photo skills rather than relying on ps.

That's awesome. That's exactly what caught my eye as I passed on the highway. Before I even realized that it was THIS place, I saw the boarded windows, read that sign, and thought, "Bullshit. Time to get off the highway."
