A car is clipped when they take the back end off of a car and weld it onto another car that's been rear-ended really bad. Sometimes they do it like that, and other times, they cut it right at the B-Pillar.

which is illegal in New York... I've seen people buy cars in Vermont that had been clipped, usually have salvage or rebuilt titles and then go to get them registered in NY... good luck.

I bought a "Frankenstein" Chevy truck several years ago that was basically about a dozen S-10s put together to make one vehicle. Didn't realize it until I tried to register it.

Notice the small dolly wheels under it? Prop car for filming 'in car' scenes.
