Actually, it's one of many Babylonian Religious Symbols. It's a sign of movement and progresion. The way that they drew it here is the correct way. As for the 'nazi' party 'way' of orienting it, the reversed it. Funny cause that means that they are reversing the 'progress'.

I thought the swastika was a symbol of purity used by the church and corrupted by the Nazis for their own gain. And then dropped by the church for obvious reasons.
