Beautiful. Was this a steam switch engine or is it the perspective?

I know there are diesel switch engines for use in the yard, did they have such with the steam engines?

I do believe this was just an old engine they brought in. This isn't exactly a real switching yard, per se, it's a historical group with an interest in trains. They used to run tour trains from this town to another town about 10 miles down. The train still runs, just not to this town, there is a section of damaged track they have to repair first. I talked to a guy from the group who was there when Wagnasty and I made the trip. Really nice guy, and full of information on the various equipment here.

Thanks. I'm just trying to find stuff out without doing the research I guess. I didn't think about where it was from, just its purpose.

Oh not a problem :) Ask away, I don't mind.

I used to climb on this Loco when I was about 9 or 10. I went out to Seven Eagles for a wedding and the lost arts festival, I'm glad to see it's still there.
