At this point, I was being escorted (unwillingly) by a maintenance worker who found me in the basement. He said that this tunnel turns a corner to the left, hidden by the post at the end, and continues for one mile under downtown. I do not believe him. It looks too much like the other dead-end tunnels that I found. He would not let me get into this tunnel, DAMMIT! Note that there is no sign that there were ever pipes or cables or anything in this tunnel. I think that both tunnels were provisional and never used. Maybe there was a plan to sell steam and electric current from the theater's power plant to neighboring buildings. Then the Depression happened, and the plan went nowhere.

If this theatre is like some of the others I have seen the tunnels under the floor may have been for ventalition.
