A wide angle view of the main part of the Bevalac building, and our first real look at the "igloo", the complex of shielding blocks (concrete and steel; around 7ft. thick) that encloses the storage ring for the synchrotron.

  Would that be the white wall with the light brown railing? That were all the magic happened?

  That's right. Although when in operation, the railing was not up there. It appears to have been added later on, to protect those working on dismantling it.
