  LINACs are generally between 10E-6 and 10E-4 torr. There are vacuum pumps inside the Bevalac capable of 10E-7 torr.

  Pretty impressive indeed! Molecular pumps I would imagine? This kind of stuff is terribly fascinating.

  I believe the LINAC used diffusion pumps. There is also an ion pump on the head.
