You can see where the siding tracks used to be. I'll bet this was a busy yard in its dirty heydey.

Actually, the railyards from some past photos I saw were on the other side of the plant -- esp made sense when it was part of the Detroit Steel Mill. The concrete piers on the far left, center, were for a rail bridge -- where trains would come and dump their coke.
