In the construction zone

Disco Stu, dec0de, and I decided to try to check out the construction at the Eatons' Centre.

We snuck our way into the Eatons Centre after closing at about 11pm, and found a door that was unlocked that went into the construction site. We knew they were still working up top, having seen it while out on the street. We were in the area where all the new escalators are, and since they're not ready yet, there's also a set of construction stairs, going both up and down. We were about to go down when suddenly a worker starts to come down the 3-flight set stairs from above.

He sees us and goes "What are you doing here!" One of our group lamely offers "Yeah... we're looking for the queen subway station?" The guy goes "nonononono..." and starts to tromp down the steps real quick. So we bolt for the exit, all four of us out the door in seconds. In the hall we pass another worker, whom we offer a breathless "hey" to, and he barely gives us another look. We race up the escalator, and behind us we can hear the first worker saying "where did those guys go!" We quickly run to the first set of doors, which are locked of course... so we bolt for the next set -- below, we can see the 2nd worker casually walking in our direction. Exiting quickly through a door that's not locked, we take deep breaths and laugh at the situation!

Heehee I'm still laughing about the "nonononono!"
